Begründung:

• Die Daten in 2 Tabellen zu stecken finde ich nicht so gut, weil man dann mit den Augen immer hin und her wandern muss.
• Der Vergleich zwischen den Jahren 05/06 und 06/07 sollte so gut wie möglich zwischen die Jahre, für die der Vergleich durchgeführt wird, gesetzt werden.
• Wenn keine bestimmte Ordnung zu erkennen ist, sollten die Daten alphabetisch geordnet werden.
• Eure Werte sind genau Umgekehrt formatiert. Die Dezimalstellen sollen einen Punkt haben und die Tausenderstellen ein Komma.
• Die Header sollten dieselbe Ausrichtung haben wie die Daten darunter.
• Es soll überall die selbe Anzahl an Nachkommastellen verwendet werden.(Ich würde mich für entweder 1 oder 2 entscheiden)

• some ideas for improvements written down after reading the PDF-file (UE-InfoVis0910 0526452 12:21, 10 November 2009 (CET)):
  • remove colors for now
  • one consistent font
  • rework on table layout
  • remove "Born", "Died", "Died%" columns??
  • better arrangement necessary
  • remove Chickens (Eggs)??
  • what to do with the references?
  • probalbly also remove "slaught.", beacause tha table should be about killed animals?

• some more ideas for improvements (UE-InfoVis0910 0308394 11:14, 11 November 2009 (CET)):
  • blank space is the best form of grouping, if enough space available (years)
  • add more horzontal space between the rows
  • lines only for better seperation (e.g. "total")
  • outlines for table not necessary
  • categories (years) from left to the right (as they are)
  • don’t vary the structure of the table from group to group
  • %-signs in the cells
  • arrange colums that shall be compared next to each other
  • alphabetical order for lists with no "natural" order
  • an other approach: sort by relavance (occurrence) of the datasets (rows)
  • fill up with 0's after the comma sign to get the values well aligned
  • align labels like the data in the table (to the right if numbers)
  • reduce unnecessary precision (last columns)
  • round to whole millions? if yes, note it in the headline
  • format date "readable"
  • reduce prominence of the column "died" with gray colored font

• questions (UE-InfoVis0910 0201040):
  • why are the values in "killed 2007" formated bold? just because they are most up-to-date or have they an essential meaning for the table?
  • shall the data marked with [f] be considered in the table? as described in the reference, those are no concrete values, but asumptions based on other data!
