Daniele Galiffa is a 26 years old italian IT Consultant, based in Milano ( Italy ), researching and working into the fields of Information Visualization, Knowledge Management, Rich Internet Applications, eLearning and OnLineCollaboration.

He started doing research and design on InfoVis from 2001.

His first infoVis project was about a new way of reading and discovering the famous Italian book from Alessandro Manzoni: “I promessi sposi”.

The idea was to understand the complexity around characters, places, events into the whole story.

In 2004 he got a degree in Industrial Design ( 99/100 ) at Politecnico di Milano; the final dissertation was titled “Da Information Visualizazion a Information Visual Handling. Il progetto Kmap” and was about creating a new User Experience in using Graphical User Interface to understand and edit data ( the complete 10 MB PDF is available ).

In 2004 he also became an official Macromedia Flash MX Developer Certified.

In 2005 he started a weblog focusing mainly on infovis solutions.

From 2004 till now, he also had some lessons at Politecnico di Milano about the role of designers into the infovis field.

In 2006 he took part as infovis consultant to the design of a new georefernced infovis project called Pagine Gialle Visual.

He is currently working on several infovis projects and researches, mainly focusing on infovis solutions for sports data.
