Research Fellow in Visualization at the Department of Informatics
Description of the position
The Department of Informatics has 20 professors/associate professors, 5 adjunct professors, a supporting staff of eight, approximately 45 PhD students and 15 post doctoral researchers.
The scientific staff is organized into six research groups:
- Programming theory
- Secure communication
Each research group is responsible for teaching advanced courses within its subject area. In addition, the teaching of basic courses is a joint responsibility of all the groups.
The research fellow must take part in the University's approved PhD programme leading to the degree within a time limit of 3 years. As the candidate’s teaching duties, it will be expected to tutor groups and he/she may also be asked to teach regular courses.
The teaching language will normally be Norwegian, but is occasionally English. The successful applicant must be able to teach in English from the start; and in Norwegian or one of the other Scandinavian languages within two years of his/her appointment.
The university offers courses in Norwegian for staff members and their partners (spouse/cohabitant). We will require successful completion of the level one course within one year and the level two and three courses within two years.
The applicants must have relevant background, which also must be sufficiently documented in the application, and their research interests should fit within existing activity in visualization. With this opening we are primarily searching for a candidate in medical visualization (to fit into the research scope of the ongoing activities).
Especially, if applicants can report experiences within related research they should verbosely document this (scientific papers written, talks given, participation in research projects and related documentation, etc.).
Interested candidates can contact Helwig Hauser (phone no. +47 55584380) for more information.
