:Hmm - I think that he is right for most InfoVis papers presented at conferences. There is only a small fraction of works that cannot be based on specific applications. But still their usability and utility should also be shown and proven by the creators. Interactive visual techniques are not good or superior to non-visual ones by nature - there need to be justifications. Hmm - I think that he is right for most InfoVis papers presented at conferences. There is only a small fraction of works that cannot be based on specific applications. But still their usability and utility should also be shown and proven by the creators.
