SHORT PRESENTATION
Research: Research in interactive visualization (information visualization, analytic visualization, data mining), especially for very large data sets. This research will take place in the IC2 Group (Interaction, Cognition and Complexity) within the context of the VIA (Advanced Visualization and Interaction), BILab (Common Lab in Business Intelligence with EDF R&D) and DBWeb (Data Bases and Web) projects. Candidates are expected to have a strong research record (significant publication activity, participation in national and international seminars and conferences, etc.)
Teaching: Courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (Licence3-Master1 and 2) and in continuing education, especially in the following areas: programming languages and paradigms, data structures and algorithms, human-computer interaction, data visualization, data mining, business intelligence, machine learning. Student projects supervision. Course responsibilities.
Required skills, knowledge and experience: Theoretical and practical knowledge in Computer Science, especially in the fields of Interactive Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction, Data Mining and Machine Learning. Experience in higher education and research. Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
Knowledge in the following areas is desirable: Advanced interaction techniques, 2D and 3D graphics, statistical analysis and learning, parallel programming, interactive system evaluation (experimental methodology).
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent
- Officer belonging to a corps recruited through the French Ecole Polytechnique or the ENA or alumnus of the Ecole Normale Superieure with professional experience > 3 years
- Graduate in Engineering or equivalent with a professional experience > 5 years
- Degree of the level of Baccalaureate + 5 years or equivalent with professional experience > 5 years
- Business executive with professional experience > 8 year
