Research and Teaching Position (Danube-University Krems)

The Department of Information and Knowledge Engineering at Danube University Krems (Austria) announces a Research and Teaching Assistant position on the level of a PhD candidate (without PhD or doctoral degree) or PostDoc (with PhD or doctoral degree) depending on the level of experiences within the area of Visual Analytics with particular focus on Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability Engineering and time-oriented dimensions.

Conditions of admission: required education/skill set

You

  • are a university graduate (at the diploma, master of science, or PhD level) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent University study .
  • are fluent in the English language and eager to communicate your work both orally and in written form.
  • are interested and enjoy scientific working

Main tasks

You

  • should perform research and teaching in the field of Visual Analytics with particular focus Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability Engineering, and time-oriented dimensions or have knowledge or the willingness to quickly become acquainted with research explained above
  • design and write scientific publications
  • design and write research proposals
  • participate in scientific and consulting projects
  • help to establish the new founded Department of Information and Knowledge Engineering and its research and teaching activities (more information about the activities of the Department can be found at http://www.donau-uni.ac.at/ike)
