Nan Cao is a research staff member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and was a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional). He graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) at Aug 2012. Before that, he was a Staff Researcher at IBM China Research Lab from May 2006 to Jan 2010. He joined IBM in the programme of IBM Extreme Blue and led many projects related to graph and text visualizations in domains of social media data analysis and healthcare data analysis. Nan’s primary expertise and research interests are information visualization and visual analysis. He is specialize in graph visualization and layout design, visual analysis of networks, social media data, multidimensional data, and text documents.
