The CT group at the University of Applied Sciences – Upper Austria (http://www.3dct.at/) is looking for promising candidates to fill the position of an experienced researcher in the field of visualization and analysis of industrial XCT data (http://www.interaqct.eu/vacancies.html , see ER 2 - Integrated quality control of composite parts for more details).

The open position is related to the INTERAQCT research project. INTERAQCT is an EU-FP7 Marie Curie activity, more specifically an “International Network for the Training of Early stage Researchers on Advanced Quality control by Computed Tomography”. INTERAQCT has been conceived as a pan-European industrial-academic initiative that will provide the unique and encompassing training environment required, by bringing together expertise from industry and academia in each of these domains (CT-equipment, CT-software, NDT, dimensional metrology, additive manufacturing, micro-manufacturing, composite manufacturing). The research will develop procedures for fast and accurate CT model acquisition, with special emphasis on multi-material parts. Furthermore, INTERAQCT targets quantification and improvement of the reliability of CT measurement results, by determining the probability of detection of material defects as well as by achieving metrological traceability. In addition, CT based quality improvement loops will be targeted for key emerging manufacturing technologies.

The eligibility criteria for applicants of this position are: At the time of recruitment you are in possession of a doctoral degree or you have at least 4 years of research experience and you are still within the first five years (or full-time equivalent) of your career in research. The researcher must not have resided, worked or studied in the country of their host organization for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the time of recruitment. Compulsory national service and/or short stays are not taken into account. Special rules apply for international (European interest) organizations.

We would greatly appreciate if you could distribute this information to good PhD students who are about to graduate and who looking for a new, exciting position to collaborate with interesting partners all over Europe.
