Four PhD Studentships in Visual Analytics for Criminal Intelligence Analysis are available in the Interaction Design Centre (http://idc.cs.mdx.ac.uk/), School of Science and Technology, at the Middlesex University, London (http://www.mdx.ac.uk/). Successful candidates will carry out their research with a team of international collaborators in context of an European Commission funded FP7 project.

No prior knowledge in criminal intelligence is required, but an excellent background in data visualisation, human-computer interaction, data analytics algorithm, or research ethics is essential.

Specific areas of research are:

  • Visual Analytics for Geo-Spatial Temporal Re-Construction of Situations in Criminal Intelligence Analysis [details].

  • Interactive Feature Selection and Projection of High-Dimensional Data for Criminal Intelligence Analysis [details].
