Jörn Kohlhammer
Dr.-Ing. Jörn Kohlhammer studied computer science with business economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich, Germany from 1993 to 1999. After receiving his diploma he worked as a researcher at the Fraunhofer CRCG in Providence, RI, USA in the area of context-based information visualization from 1999 to 2003. In 2003 he relocated back to Germany to work on decision-centered visualization in the department of Graphic Information Systems at Fraunhofer IGD. He received his doctoral degree from the faculty of computer science at the technical university of Darmstadt in 2005. Since 2004 he leads the department of Realtime Solutions for Simulation and Visual Analytics. His research interests include semantics-based and decision-centered information visualization, visual business analytics, and simulation-based visualization of large amounts of data.
