Monika Lanzenberger received her PhD ("The Interactive Stardinates - An Information Visualization Technique Applied in a Multiple View System") from the Vienna University of Technology, Faculty of Informatics in 2003 and her MSc in Computer Science from the Vienna University of Technology in 2001. She is a member of the academic faculty of the Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems. From 1999 to 2001 she conducted a project for women in informatics funded by the European Union (esf). She has published several papers in international conferences and workshops. 2002 she won an outstanding paper award for the work on the evaluation of navigation in hypertext learning systems.

Currently, she is on sabbatical and has moved to Norway doing a Post-Doc Fellowship (ERCIM) with the NTNU, Department of Computer and Information Science.


Her focus of research is: Information Visualization, Knowledge Acquisition, e-Learning and Semantic Web.
