Tim Jacobs is the Chief Technology Officer for Stanfield Systems, Inc. where he directs research and development of innovative, Web-based information visualization solutions for managing and understanding complex information domains. While at Stanfield Systems, Tim directed the development of a Visual Information Management Toolkit for Air Force command and control systems. Prior to joining Stanfield Systems, Tim served 20 years as an Air Force officer providing information technology leadership for a variety of Air Force programs for budget planning and execution, command and control, and intelligence analysis and collection systems. Tim spent several years as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Air Force Institute of Technology, during which he designed several innovative visualization techniques and architectural approaches for engineering and troubleshooting distributed software systems. The results of his work were presented at multiple international conferences. Tim received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Utah, where he specialized in computer-aided design systems.
