Basic Definiton
Jaques Bertin defined seven Visual Variables [Bertin, 1967] consisting of:
- Position
- Size
- Shape
- Value
- Color
- Orientation
- Texture
Since information is presented by computers, the addition of motion as a new visual variable gets important.
