Niklas Elmqvist is an assistant professor at the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, USA. Previous to joining Purdue in August 2008, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Aviz lab at INRIA in Paris, France. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) in December, 2006. His research interests include the following:
- Information visualization
- Human-computer interaction
- 3D interaction
- Visual analytics
- HCI in computer games
Current research projects include visual analytics environments and techniques, interaction techniques for visual exploration, and large-scale graph visualization.
