7th Conference of the Austrian Computer Society Workgroup: Human-Computer Interaction LKH-University Hospital Graz organized by Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Documentation Medical University of Graz The conference will focus on the hypothesis that modern information management can bridge the hiatus theoreticus, the gap between scientific and theoretical knowledge in medicine on one hand and its application within medical practice on the other hand.

In their daily routines, medical practitioners are confronted with individuals, who exhibit variations in the expressions of diseases with respect to etiology, symptoms, the course of the disease as well as psycho-social aspects, requiring the tailoring of scientific knowledge to personalize practicable diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions. Crucial to this process is the usability of information, extracting maximum potential for the highest quality outcome. We challenge the scientific community to present outstanding ideas and solutions for information usage in the context of:

All submissions will be reviewed by at least three independent reviewers. Accepted contributions will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.

Calls for Papers and Posters To support broad access within an international audience, the official conference language for publication and presentation will be English.

In order to ensure highest quality, all papers undergo thorough peer review from at least three international experts. Accepted contributions will be presented during the symposium as full paper, short paper or poster/demonstration and will be printed in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) Series published by Springer. Please carefully read and follow the instructions for the preparation of your contribution, and download the relevant files. At least one of the paper's authors must be registered for the conference at the time of submission of the final version.

We also welcome suggestions for tutorials and workshops.

Full Papers

We welcome papers reporting original work addressing any of the conference topics provided that it has not been previously published.

Preparing a submission:

• Number of pages: 14–20 pages including all figures and references
• 10th July Deadline for submission of full papers
• 31st July End of the review period, begin to send out notifications and revision requests to the authors
• 21st August Deadline for revised papers
• 4th September Final decision as to publication of the papers, begin sending out notifications of the final decision to the authors and, in the case of acceptance, request to provide the camera-ready version
• 18th September Deadline for camera-ready paper

Short Papers

In the short paper submission category, we welcome late-breaking original work addressing any of the conference topics provided that they have never been previously published and are not the condensed version of a previously published work.

Preparing a submission:

• Number of pages: Up to 12 pages including all figures and references
• 31st July Deadline for submission of short papers
• 21st August End of the review period, begin to send out notifications and revision requests to the authors
• 4th September Deadline for revised papers
• 11th September Final decision as to publication of the papers, begin sending out notifications of the final decision to the authors and, in the case of acceptance, request to provide the camera-ready version
• 18th September Deadline for camera-ready paper

Posters

In the poster submission category, we welcome poster summaries reporting original work addressing any of the conference topics provided that it has not been previously published. The poster space per booth available at the conference will be 1 page ISO A0 portrait.

Preparing a submission:

• Number of pages: 4 pages including all figures and references
• 31st July Deadline for submission of poster abstracts
• 21st August End of the review period, begin to send out notifications and revision requests to the authors
• 4th September Deadline for revised poster
• 11th September Final decision as to publication of the abstract, begin sending out notifications of the final decision to the authors and, in the case of * acceptance, request to provide the camera-ready version
• 18th September Deadline for camera-ready poster abstract
