Remote data backup is a method for protecting computer files securely offsite.
Many companies now provide remote data backup services, including Remote Data Backups, Inc..
Data is typically encrypted, then files are compressed and transferred using incremental technology, to offsite data centers securely over the Internet.
In case files are lost locally, due to hard drive failure, file corruption, accidental deletion, theft, virus, hacker, etc, files can be restored from copies at the data center.
