The Worcester Polytechnic Institute Computer Science Department seeks applicants for 1-3 Ph.D. Fellowships in the area of Visual Analytics. These awards, as part of the Department of Education's GAANN Program (Graduate Assistantships in Areas of National Need), are restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science who plan a career in research or education. Renewal of a fellowship is based on evaluation of academic and research performance. Continued funding beyond the Fellowship, if needed, will be provided in the form of a research or teaching assistantship.

Applicants should have a strong background in one or more areas relevant to visual analytics, including information and data visualization, graphics, human-computer interaction, knowledge discovery in databases, and statistical analysis.
