Researchers and Software Developers (Full-time or part-time)

Position Announcement

Participate in award-winning international research projects and become part of a young and interdisciplinary team. You will closely work together with other researchers with a passion for conceptualizing and implementing novel solutions to challenging technical problems. You will collaboratively advance the state of the art in one or more of the following disciplines:

Web intelligence, social media, information visualization, user interface design, knowledge extraction, text mining, semantic search, and crowdsourcing.

The Department of New Media Technology of MODUL University Vienna and the Research Institute for Computational Methods of Vienna University of Economics and Business offer part-time (e.g. for currently enrolled students), full-time and PhD candidate positions. Essential Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and extensive programming experience
  • (preferably in Java, JavaScript or Python)

Desired Qualifications :: Frontend Development Positions

  • Dynamic Web technologies (JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Visual Analytics and Information Visualization (D3.js)
  • Human-Computer Interaction and User Interface Design

Desired Qualifications :: Backend Development Positions

  • Semantic Search (Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr)
  • Natural Language Processing, Text Mining (Python)
  • Server Administration and Distributed Processing (Linux)
