Call for Papers and Participation Proceeding will be published by the IEEE Computer Society, with ISBN number, and to be indexed by IEEE Xplore and other major bibliographical search engines.

Organized as part of the 2011 International Information Visualisation Conference, the 5th International Symposium of Information Visualization in Biomedical Informatics (IVBI) is a forum for the presentation of original research in information visualization theory and applications to biomedical data. The symposium covers all aspects of visualization and issues affecting presentation and interaction with large and complex data sets.

We encourage submission of papers covering new techniques, old techniques applied in novel ways, new methods, interesting applications, and in-depth surveys.

Examples of biomedical topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Next-Gen Sequencing data
  • Biochemical networks
  • Phylogenies
  • Sequence alignment
  • Medical records
  • Clinical data
  • Proteomics, metabolomics, bio-repositories
  • Biosignatures of diseases

Examples of visualization topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Comparative methods / User studies / Surveys
  • Interaction methods
  • Colors
  • Large data sets
  • Temporal data visualization
