'''i2, Cambridge UK, Summer 2010'''

Founded in 1990, [http://i2group.com i2] is the leading provider of visual investigative analysis software for law enforcement, government, military, intelligence and commercial organizations throughout the world.  Employing a staff of more than 330 between its operational centers - in Cambridge UK, Washington DC, Tucson AZ & Vancouver Canada – i2 has created the de facto standard visualization and analysis software for intelligence creation and investigation support.

i2 is offering an internship for a student of Information Visualization. Ideally the candidate would be studying for their Ph.D. in InfoVis, but we would also consider other graduate students or post-docs.  The internship will last for three months - starting time to be arranged at our mutual convenience.  The salary will be at an approximate rate of $5000 gross per month.  The research project will be under contract with i2 Limited, UK. The work will take place at our Cambridge facility, so interns must be eligible to work in the UK.

The research agenda will be based on real analytical problems & will be discussed in full with short-listed candidates as part of the interview process. During the project the intern will be working alongside our software engineers and will gain useful experience within a real production environment. Towards the end of the project it is likely that the evaluation stage will be performed directly with our analyst customers.[http://www.berkeley-term-papers.com/ term paper]

If you would like to apply for this position, please send a covering letter and CV to Dr Joe Parry, [mailto:joe@i2.co.uk joe@i2.co.uk] (closing date for applications 12 March 2010).
