PostDoc position on interactive visualization of dynamic graphs[edit]

The INRIA GRAVITÉ project in collaboration with LaBRI (CNRS) is offering a post-doc position on interactive visualization of dynamic graphs through multilevel representations.

The selected candidate is expected to look at a number of issues posedby the interactive visualization of dynamic graphs. The problem of graph clustering is challenged and the idea of a just-in-time strategy requires to have a closer look at how neighborhoods are defined/computed for dynamic graphs.

PhD position on visual and interactive exploration of semantic networks[edit]

The INRIA GRAVITÉ project in collaboration with LaBRI (CNRS) is offering a PhD position focusing on the visual and interactive exploration of semantic networks.

The PhD project takes place within the ANR TANGUY project headed by Thalès Communications and in collaboration with Xerox (XRCE Grenoble) and the law firm FIDAL. The project aims at designing a methodology to support the incremental construction and easy use of semantic networks. The development of a (prototype) system should help law experts to deal with large document collections from which potential facts have to be identified, extracted, organized and ultimately validated or annotated.

Starting from valid pieces of information extracted from text document (Xerox expertise), our goal is to offer adapted mechanisms to visualize, navigate and annotate all this information. The construction of a network of facts should follow from semantic proximity between pieces of information or from users’ knowledge. As a consequence, the interactive navigation of the network can exploit available results in graph visualization which is at the heart of our INRIA team.

PhD position on visualizing evolving multimedia databases[edit]

The INRIA GRAVITÉ project in collaboration with LaBRI (CNRS) is offering a PhD position focusing on the visualization of evolving multimedia databases.

This PhD project is developed in collaboration with INA (the Franch National Audio/visual Media Institute, see http://www.ina.fr). The data we face within the INA context can be handled from different perspectives and implicitly share numerous relations that must be explored suggesting to address it as a graph visualization problem. The goal is to provide the user with a readable and coherent visual representation of the data, equipped with relevant interactions, which becomes a real challenge when dealing with data dynamically evolving with time.

The INA data presents numerous facets, thus allowing the definition of several visualization options and scenarios we need to specify according to potential usage and objects characteristics.
