An interactive personal assistant for document visualization during meetings

Job Description[edit]

The goal of the proposed PhD position is to study novel approaches to human-computer dialogue and document visualization, which meet the standards of efficiency and unobtrusiveness required from a personal assistant that is used during meetings. The PhD student will explore these approaches and implement them into a system that will be evaluated thanks to user-centric, task-based methods.

This position is supervised jointly by IDIAP and DIVA/University of Fribourg. The PhD candidate will register with the EPFL doctoral school. Candidates should have a strong background in computer science, preferably with notions of information retrieval, human-computer interaction, document visualisation, and natural language processing.
