===Brief Description:===
In many collaborative situations, multiple distributed users simultaneously interact with and analyze complex information while sharing their results with others. It is through such collaboration that multiple users bring their expertise to bear on a particular problem to analyze incomplete information and reach collaborative decisions. Such collaboration is far more effective when users collaborate by interacting with meaningful visualizations that accurately depict shared information. Visualizations must present information in a manner that is easily understood by individuals with different expertise and perspectives on the problem at hand. Users must be able to interact with the visualization to highlight or manipulate information in a natural way that is readily observed by other participants.
This special session on Visualization and Collaboration – to be held as part of the 2009 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS’09) – will focus on visualization and its role in collaboration. The objective is to highlight key issues and solutions for interactive visualization in a collaborative environment. We invite original contributions from researchers and practitioners in academia, government, and industry in this emerging visualization specialty.
Topics of Interest include (but are not limited to):
* Collaborative visualization architectures, technologies, or algorithms
* Visualization for managing collaborative environments
* Unique challenges in collaborative visualization
* Collaborative visualization solutions or applications
* Web-based collaborative visualization
* Visualization in collaborative decision making and support
* Collaborative data analysis and visualization
* Visualization in Social Networks and Media

===Instructions for Authors:===
Authors are invited to submit original papers to the special session organizer by January 26, 2009. Electronic (pdf) submissions are encouraged and should be sent to tjacobs@stanfieldsystems.com. For other review electronic formats, please check with the organizer. Papers submitted for review should not exceed 10 pages in IEEE single-spaced, double-column format. Include up to 6 keywords and an abstract of no more than 350 words. Submissions should also include the title, authors name, affiliation, e-mail address, fax number and postal address. In case of multiple authors, an indication of which author is responsible for correspondence should also be included. If accepted, the final manuscript will follow the CTS 2009 format that is available on the conference Web site at http://cisedu.us/cis/cts/09/main/callForPapers.jsp.

Electronic submissions will be accepted only in PDF.

Consistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Initial selection will be based on full papers.
Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, once accepted. All accepted papers are required to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.

The Hyatt Regency Irvine
Irvine, California, USA
Submission Deadline: '''January 7, 2008'''

===Brief Description:===
This special session on Visualization and Collaboration – to be held as part of the 2008 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS’08) – will focus on visualization and its role in collaboration. The objective is to highlight key issues and solutions for interactive visualization in a collaborative environment. We invite original contributions from researchers and practitioners in academia, government, and industry in this emerging visualization specialty.

===Topics of Interest include (but are not limited to):===
* Collaborative visualization architectures, technologies, or algorithms
* Visualization for managing collaborative environments
* Unique challenges in collaborative visualization
* Collaborative visualization solutions or applications
* Web-based collaborative visualization
* Visualization in collaborative decision making and support

===Instructions for Authors:===
Authors are invited to submit original papers to the special session organizer by January 7, 2008. If accepted, the final manuscript will follow the CTS 2008 format that is available on the conference Web site at http://cisedu.us/cis/cts/08/.

==Call for Papers: Visualization and Collaboration

Special Session to be held at the 2008 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS 2008)==
The Hyatt Regency Irvine
Irvine, California, USA
Submission Deadline: '''December 21, 2007'''

===Brief Description:===
This special session on Visualization and Collaboration – to be held as part of the 2008 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS’08) – will focus on visualization and its role in collaboration. The objective is to highlight key issues and solutions for interactive visualization in a collaborative environment. We invite original contributions from researchers and practitioners in academia, government, and industry in this emerging visualization specialty.

===Topics of Interest include (but are not limited to):===
* Collaborative visualization architectures, technologies, or algorithms
* Visualization for managing collaborative environments
* Unique challenges in collaborative visualization
* Collaborative visualization solutions or applications
* Web-based collaborative visualization
* Visualization in collaborative decision making and support

===Instructions for Authors:===
Authors are invited to submit original papers to the special session organizer by December 21, 2007. Electronic (pdf) submissions are encouraged and should be sent to tjacobs@stanfieldsystems.com.
Submission Deadline: '''December 21, 2007'''

===Brief Description:===
This special session on Visualization and Collaboration – to be held as part of the 2008 International Symposium on Collaborative Technologies and Systems (CTS’08) – will focus on visualization and its role in collaboration. The objective is to highlight key issues and solutions for interactive visualization in a collaborative environment. We invite original contributions from researchers and practitioners in academia, government, and industry in this emerging visualization specialty.

===Topics of Interest include (but are not limited to):===
* Collaborative visualization architectures, technologies, or algorithms
* Visualization for managing collaborative environments
* Unique challenges in collaborative visualization
* Collaborative visualization solutions or applications
* Web-based collaborative visualization
* Visualization in collaborative decision making and support
